What does an economic calendar show?

An economic calendar lists scheduled releases such as inflation, employment, GDP and interest-rate decisions. It helps readers identify timing and markets that might react; it cannot predict or guarantee the direction of prices.

Check the country and currency, release time and time zone, importance indicator and provider's update date. Time-zone differences are a common source of mistakes.

Previous, forecast and actual values

The previous value belongs to an earlier period, the forecast is an estimate before publication and the actual is the released figure. Markets may react to surprises, but revisions, central-bank expectations and wider conditions also matter.

Avoid interpreting a single number in isolation. Prices can rise or fall for multiple reasons even when a release appears positive or negative.

Risk during high-impact releases

Strong releases can coincide with wider spreads and slippage. Understand order types, their limitations and platform conditions before acting, and never use an event calendar alone as a trade signal.

Live schedules and figures require an approved data feed. This website does not pass off generated events as a real-time calendar.
